Sports Queens named TIME’S Women of the Year
Women’s History Month is upon us, and TIME Magazine is popping the champagne early to commence the celebrations. The Annual list naming the publication’s Women of the Year has been released. Among those named, a standout category highlights women in sports. Both Olympians, fresh off the heels of their massive success during the 2024 games, WNBA star A’ja Wilson & artistic Gymnast Jordan Chiles shine together on the issue cover.

Perserverance through a season when females in sports were not included turned that page. It’s a new chapter, and these ladies ARE the influence.
The issue recognizes their achievements that include incredible performances at the 2024 Olympics and history making moments throughout the ladies’ career journeys. Chiles won gold in the gymnastics team event in Paris, and Wilson became the first WNBA player to score 1,000 points in a single season. She’s also the first Black WNBA player to have a signature shoe since 2010.
